Our own worm castings are crafted with care using a wide range of different earthworm foods and amendments to optimize the vermicomposting process and improve the quality of the end product.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eOngoing microscopic analysis is a key part of the process. Our castings are ‘biologically complete’, according to Soil Food Web standards.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e100% safe for plants, pets and people!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2 dir=\"ltr\"\u003eApplication Rates\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePotting Mixes \u003c\/strong\u003e- Make potting mixes with 5-20% castings for best results. (A 5% potting mix would contain just over ¾ cup of castings per gallon of soil mix) \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTransplants \u0026amp; Top Dressing\u003c\/strong\u003e - Add a handful of castings down in the bottom of your planting holes or around the base of your garden plants (you can double these amounts for larger plants like shrubs and young trees). Make sure to keep your top-dressing moist with the help of mulches and regular watering.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eExtracts \u0026amp; Teas \u003c\/strong\u003e- Use 1-3 lb of castings per 5 gallons (using 1 pound at a time) of dechlorinated water, ideally using a 400 micron mesh bag to allow all the beneficial biology through while blocking most of the solids. These liquid amendments can be further diluted to suit your particular needs. Keep them out of direct sunlight and protected from precipitation and extreme heat and cold.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe microbiology of castings will shift over time. Aim to use this product as soon as possible!\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli dir=\"ltr\"\u003eIf you use castings to make teas and extracts, these should be used almost immediately (especially in the case of teas with added microbial foods).\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli dir=\"ltr\"\u003eCastings should be kept moist since this is critical for the well-being of your microorganisms.
