Compost Extract/Tea Bag

How to Make a Basic Extract

1. Place approximately 1 pound (2 or 3 handfuls) of good quality castings/compost in the bag. (NOTE: 1 L of compost should be pretty close to 1 lb, but weights will always vary based on the moisture content of the material)
   
   
2. Gently massage with your hands in a 5 gallon bucket of dechlorinated water for at least a few minutes. For more concentrated extracts, or if larger volumes are required, you can repeat the process using additional ~1 lb amounts of compost/castings at a time.  
   
   
3. Deposit the leftover solids from the bag either around your plants, or add it to your compost pile/bin as a starter.
