The Lil’ Wiggler Lab is PC’s very own worm composting starter kit. It’s a system originally designed for the classroom, but it offers an excellent option for anyone looking to test the waters with worm composting on a smaller scale!

The compact, lightweight design makes it easy to accommodate in just about any indoor setting, and very easy to move. Our “Kit with Worms” (with Living Material Plus) comes complete with everything you need to get started.

FAQ

How Many Worms Should I Add?
It’s a small system that doesn’t require a lot of composting worms to get started. Our Living Material Plus (LM+) starter culture offers a great option, but if you prefer to add a specific quantity of worms we recommend ⅛ lb.

What Is PC Living Material / Living Material Plus?
PC Living Material is rich, decomposed organic matter that contains countless beneficial microorganisms, and a range of helpful composting invertebrates, including Red Wiggler Worms (and cocoons). Our Living Material Plus (LM+) product is 4L of our standard Living Material, with 100 additional Red Wiggler Worms included - making it well suited for use as a worm composting starter culture. How Much Food Can I Add?
Given the small size of the system, feeding in moderation is especially important! You only need to add a small quantity of food scraps at a time, and only as frequently as the worms are able to process the material.

How Do You Harvest the Compost?
Once the worms have worked through a lot of the bedding and food you have added (usually within 3-4 months), the contents of your main bucket should be dumped into a tray or tub and the “light harvesting method” performed.
