Living Material Plus vs Bulk Worms
Our starter kits now include a system inoculum called "Living Material Plus" (you can learn more about it if you follow the resource page link shared below). This is 4 L of rich, decomposed material containing lots of beneficial composting organisms, including Red Wiggler Worms and cocoons. We also include an additional 50 "breeder" (adult) Red Wigglers. This inoculum mix can be used to grow your own composting worm population (and it is a very healthy, natural, and effective way to do so), BUT you will definitely need to be more patient than if you order worms by weight (e.g. 1/2 lb / 1 lb etc).
NOTE: If you order bulk worms from someone else, our kits are still perfect to pair with them, since the Living Material is very effective for helping worms get used to a new environment (makes it feel much more like "home").
To learn more about Living Material Plus please refer to our Living Material Resource page.
