Our 1/2 Pound Worm Starter Kit contains everything you need to get your small to mid-sized worm bin off to a great start! Introducing worms to a well set up habitat will reduce the stress on the worms and ease their transition into their new home and set your bin up for success.  

The 1/2 Pound Starter Kit includes the following: 

• 1/2 Pound Red Wiggler worms (Eisenia fetida)
• Inoculated habitat

• 100g pH Buffer/Grit

Recommended bins for the 1/2 pound Worm Starter Kit include: small to mid-sized worm bins such as: Urbalive Compact Worm Farm, Urbalive Worm Farm, a small DIY worm bin or other small worm farms.

The 1 Pound Starter Kit includes the following:

• 2 bricks of Coco Coir - 625g each
• 500g pH Buffer/Grit
• 0.97 Liters  BioChar
• 3 Worm Blankets
• Printed Guide:  Caring for your Red Wigglers - A Beginner’s Guide for Successful Vermicomposting.

Recommended bins for the 1 pound Worm Starter Kit include: mid to larger-sized worm bins such as:  Urbalive Worm Farm, Hungry Bin, Urban Worm Bag, Worm Hut, and other mid to large sized worm farms. 1 pound of worms is also a great addition to a layered composting system such as the GeoBin or SpeediBin.

About the Worms

Red Wigglers (Eisenia fetida), also known under various common names including: redworm, tiger worm, manure worm, panfish worm and brandling worm are highly efficient composters of organic material - and arguably the most versatile of the composting species, transforming waste into a highly beneficial soil amendment. For this reason, they are often referred to as "the king of composting worms"!

Consider adding 1/4-2 pounds of worms to start, depending on the size of your system. If you are unsure please ask us!

Worms will live up to 3-5 years under optimal conditions, and they can increase greatly in number in 2-3 months, if properly cared for. 

These live composting worms are shipped along with 4L inoculated habitat. You will also receive the printed guide: Caring for your Red Wigglers - A Beginner’s Guide for Successful Vermicomposting.

Your worms are guaranteed to arrive alive, some conditions may apply.
